One of the best things about white shoes is that they go with everything. Whether you're wearing a suit or a sundress, you can rock a pair of white sneakers and look great. However, once the shoes start to get scuffed and scraped, it can be difficult to clean them. If you're not sure how to wash white shoes at home, here are a few tips to help you get the job done.

Easy Ways to Wash Shoes by Hand

It’s inevitable. No matter how careful you are, your white sneakers are going to get dirty. Whether it’s a scuff mark from kicking a stone or a stain from a puddle, sooner or later your pristine whites are going to need some cleaning.

But don’t worry, we’re here to help. In this article, we’ll show you how to clean white sneakers so they look as good as new.

First things first, you’ll need to gather some supplies. For this project, you will need:

  • A toothbrush
  • A soft cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • A clean towel

With your supplies in hand, you’re ready to start cleaning. Here’s how to clean white sneakers:

  1. Start by removing any laces or inserts from your sneakers. These can be cleaned separately (more on that later).
  2. Next, take a look at your shoes and identify any areas that are particularly dirty. Use the toothbrush to gently scrub away any dirt or debris.
  3. Once you’ve tackled the dirt, it’s time to deal with any stains. Make a solution of equal parts vinegar and water. Dip the soft cloth in the mixture and use it to blot the stained areas.
  4. You can also use baking soda to help remove stubborn stains. Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the stained areas. Let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it away.
  5. Once you’ve dealt with the stains, it’s time to give your shoes a good overall cleaning. Mix a solution of water and vinegar and use the soft cloth to wipe down the entire surface of your shoes.
  6. Finally, let your shoes air dry. Use the clean towel to stuff the shoes and absorb any moisture.

Once your shoes are dry, you’re ready to put them back on and show the world your sparkling clean whites.
