Sneakers are a wardrobe staple for many people, but they can get pretty dirty after a few wears. If you don’t clean them regularly, they can start to smell bad and look grungy. Here are a few tips on how to wash sneakers so they look and smell fresh.

First, take a look at the care label on your sneakers. This will tell you what materials they are made of and what kind of care they need. If the label says “dry clean only,” then you will need to take them to a professional to clean them. Otherwise, you can wash them at home.

Next, remove the laces and insole from your sneakers. These can usually be washed separately from the rest of the shoe.

If your sneakers are made of leather, suede, or another delicate material, you will need to use a special cleaner made for that material. You can find these cleaners at most shoe stores or online.

To wash the rest of the shoe, start by pre-treating any stains with a stain remover. Then, fill a basin with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent. Dunk your sneakers in the water and scrub them with a soft brush to remove any dirt or grime.

Rinse the sneakers well with cold water and allow them to air dry. Do not put them in the dryer, as this can damage the material.

Once they are dry, put the laces and insole back in and enjoy your clean sneakers!
