As nearly all reviewers use this for furniture, I didn't get a lot of information as to how it would work on my Doc Martens steel toe work boots. I decided to go with this product as it is more of an all-in-one versus other products that require use of multiple, separate products.
I cleaned my boots with a brush and then wiped them with a damp shop rag and allowed them to dry. I used the enclosed pads to apply the product, which has the consistency of mustard. I taped off the yellow stitching on the boots as the product would certainly stain them. I used the enclosed brush to apply it around the metal shoelace eyelets and it worked fine.
Before applying the product I used #800 grit sandpaper to smooth out the toe area and to roughen the surface where my boots still had color. I sat the boots in front of a fan for a few hours and then did a few more touch ups and left them to dry overnight.
After putting new laces in them I must admit they look pretty good and a few of my coworkers thought I bought new boots!
Only time will tell how scuff resistant the product is but so far, so good.
